Canadian Consulate in Chongqing
If you live in the areas of Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou. Then the Canadian Consulate in Chongqing will be the Consulate that will assist you with consular assistance. Each region in China falls either under the Canadian Embassy in Beijing or one of the Consulates around the country. This can even be the Canadian Consulate in Shanghai. If you live in Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan or Guizhou then this Consulate will be able to assist you. If you lost your passport or have given birth to a child. You will then see what can be done for you. If you need documents legalised and need a public notary you will be able to contact the Embassy for this. Remember that you will first have to call them to arrange an appointment.
Now if you lost your passport. Then you must report this to the local police. They will provide you with a case number and a letter. You will then apply for a new passport at the Embassy and give them this police case number as well. This Consulate in Chongqing does not offer passport services. Consular Assistance
If you have given birth or your Chinese wife has given birth. You will need to take all your documents from the Chinese government. Have these translated and certified. Then make an appointment to make the application. You will need all the documents, original and translated with you to the Consulate. This with the child and your Canadian passport. The application will then be made and you will need to apply for a travel document for the child later. This so that the child can return to Canada with you. If you are getting married. You will need a letter of no impediment to state that you are single. You need to apply for this at the Consulate. They will tell you when to collect it. You will need to translate this and have it certified. Then you can register your marriage in China. Once done this needs to be translated and certified for the Canadian visa for a spouse later.
