Lisbon is home to the Canadian Embassy in Portugal. If you live in Portugal or are a tourist then speak to the Canadian Embassy in Lisbon about a tourist visa or a spouse visa or even a fiancee visa if you are married or engaged to a Canadian citizen.
If you are a Canadian citizen then you can apply for a passport at the embassy or register a marriage or birth of even a death while in the country. If you have lost your passport while in Portugal you will need to report this to the local police. They will issue you with a case number and you will need to take this to the Canadian Embassy in Lisbon for consular assistance. You will need to complete the needed forms and then add the case number for the lost passport to your application form. They will then issue you with a temporary travel document. If you are an expat and retired while in the country. You are going to need to wait for a new passport.

If you are getting married while in the country. You will need a letter from the Canadian Embassy to state that you are single and able to get married. This letter will need to be translated and certified to be accepted by the local government offices. Once you are married you would have to translate and certify the marriage certificate. In this way you spouse can now apply for a Canadian spouse visa and go home with you. Note that there is the Consulado do Canadá em Lisboa or the Canadian Consulate in São Miguel as well as a Canadian Consulate located in Faro.

If you have given birth then you will need to register the child at the Embassy. You will need all your birth registration documents from the local government. Have these translated and certified. Complete the needed forms and register a Canadian born abroad.
