The poverty line for a Canadian visa such as the long term Super Visa will require that the sponsor has the needed financial means to underwrite the visa application process. This is the line that the Canadian Embassy and Canadian Immigration will look at.
Canadian Poverty Line
The poverty line in Canada is not determined by the government, but there are several measures of poverty that are used by different organizations and agencies. One of the most commonly used measures is the “Low Income Measure” (LIM), which is based on a percentage of median income adjusted for household size. According to this measure, a household is considered to be in poverty if its income is less than 50% of the median household income.
